Navigating Sexual Health in Therapy: Practical Tools for Confident, Competent Care

Sexual health touches everyone—yet most mental health professionals receive little to no training on how to address sexual and relationship challenges with their clients. Many clinicians feel unprepared, uncomfortable, hesitant, or unsure where to start.

Workshop Details

This session provides a practical overview of addressing sexual health in therapy, including key techniques for navigating common client concerns, adapting your clinical approach, and acknowledging personal biases. We also explore the intersection of sexual, mental, and physical health, equipping you with actionable tools, curated resources, and clear guidelines on when to refer for specialized care.

What You'll Do

  • Explore common sexual health concerns you’re likely to encounter in practice.
  • Build confidence through didactics, case discussions, and role-play—so you can address these topics with ease.
  • Learn theory and practical techniques to adapt your current approach.
  • Know when and how to refer for specialized care.
  • Access curated resources and recommendations for further education.
  • Leave feeling empowered, equipped, and ready to discuss sexual health with clarity and compassion!
