Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution Ottawa

Throughout life, in the various contexts such as home or work, it is very common to come across conflicts and differences of opinions. It is often possible to resolve these challenges alone, but sometimes these disagreements can cause intense negative emotions, which can escalate the situation. In those cases, it can be helpful to have a mediator to filter through the emotions and clarify the facts.

Conflict resolution is a method to find a peaceful end to an argument or disagreement. The goals of conflict resolution are to find a solution that works for all parties as quickly as possible, and to improve the relationship through the resolution of the issue. A psychologist can guide clients to a healthy resolution of conflict in a way that is beneficial for all parties.

Well, he describes himself as a curious, open, and active clinician. His clinical approach often draws from Emotion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He uses evidence-based approaches with a sex-positive lens to make couples therapy less intimidating and more impactful for his clients. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Walters is a published academic author and has received support for his work through academic awards, including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. His research covers topics such as sexual function, sexual health education, and theories around sexual attraction.
