This brief service is designed for those who would like to use donor sperm, donor eggs, donor embryos, and/or surrogacy to create or expand their families. This service is also available for those who are considering donating sperm/eggs/embryos or becoming a surrogate. Sessions are tailored to the goals of the attendees, and typically range from 1-3 sessions. If requested by the client’s fertility centre/doctor, a brief letter of participation can be provided by the psychologist. Typical topics include various fertility options/decisions, setting realistic goals, boundaries/expectations with known donors/surrogates, topics to address with children, impact on individual/relationship health, etc.
