Psychology Internship Program at Gilmour Psychological Services
Training Philosophy
Our internship program is grounded in the scientist-practitioner model, emphasizing the seamless integration of empirical research with clinical practice. We prepare competent, ethical, and culturally responsive psychologists who are ready to excel in an evolving profession.
The GPS approach combines evidence-based practice with innovative thinking, ensuring our interns develop both the fundamental skills and forward-thinking perspectives needed for successful careers. Our developmental training model recognizes that professional competence evolves gradually through carefully orchestrated learning experiences, supervised practice, and reflective growth.
Program Structure
Duration: September 2, 2026 - August 31, 2027
Positions Available: 2 full-time internship slots
Training Hours: Minimum 1,600 total hours
Direct Service: Minimum 500+ hours face-to-face client contact
Supervision: Minimum 200+ hours including individual and group components
Didactic Training: 100+ hours of seminars, workshops, and case conferences
