Dr. Qadeer Ahmad

Dr. Ahmad practices adult psychotherapy primarily with individuals and couples.

Dr. Ahmad is a strong believer in the scientist-practitioner approach to psychology as a field and psychotherapy as a profession. This is reflected in his approach to psychotherapy which includes caring, informative, instructive sessions based upon the client’s unique abilities and skills to utilize. Dr. Ahmad has extensive training in the areas of clinical hypnosis, strategic therapy, systemic family therapy and psychopharmacology.

Psychologist Expertise

In particular, Dr. Ahmad’s area of expertise is in the field of Health Psychology. As a special interest he has focused on psychophysiological disorders such as:

Dr. Ahmad earned his honours B.A. and his M.A. in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa. He received his doctorate in psychology with specialization in the neurosciences from the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Ahmad is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association and The International Society of Neurosciences. He continues to publish research articles in the field of neurosciences and psychopharmacology. Dr. Ahmad also conducts workshops in areas such as couples communication, verbal and non-verbal behaviour and executive stress management. Dr. Ahmad involves himself in ongoing professional development through workshops and conferences.
