Dr. Elisabeth Melsom

Dr. Elisabeth Melsom provides psychological assessment services to children (age 6+ years), adolescents, and adults, including military and veterans, at Gilmour Psychological Services® in Ottawa. Assessment services include:

  • psychoeducational assessments to clarify learning/school-related issues (e.g., learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, giftedness, and/or ADHD)
  • psychodiagnostic assessments for diagnostic clarification (e.g., mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, etc.)
  • psychovocational assessments to assist with career planning

Dr. Melsom completed her honours B.A. in psychology at the University of Ottawa and her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Queen’s University. She completed her doctoral internship at the Edmonton consortium with rotations in adult, pediatric and health psychology. Prior to private practice, Dr. Melsom worked in multidisciplinary rehabilitation organizations, hospitals, university clinics, and schools providing psychotherapy and assessment services. She currently focuses exclusively on assessment services.

Dr. Melsom is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She maintains memberships in national, provincial, and local psychological associations. These associations support psychological research and work to improve the quality of health care to the public. Dr. Melsom continues her professional development through scientific literature, supervision and consultation, and educational lectures, conferences, and workshops.
