Dr. Anne Boland, C.Psych

Dr. Boland practise psychotherapy with francophone and Anglophone adolescents, adults and couples. Her psychotherapeutic approach is holistic and adapted to the needs of her clients. Her focus encompasses clients’ current as well as long-standing patterns that may predispose them to personal, relational, or work-related difficulties. She works in collaboration with her clients to help them achieve the insights and strategies required to introduce the changes they desire in their lives. Her approach integrates mindfulness, emotion-focused, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioural perspectives in both short-term and longer-term psychotherapy. She is trained in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Focusing, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) which she integrates into treatment when required. She also offers therapy over the phone for those who live in isolated communities.

Dr. Boland works with clients experiencing various types of difficulties in the following areas: Childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger management, divorce and separation, bereavement and grief, relationship difficulties, dissociative disorders, personality disorders (including Borderline), self-esteem disorders, and spiritual or religious issues. She also works with people facing serious illnesses.

Dr. Boland maintains membership in the Ottawa Academy of Psychology (OAP) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). She is also a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). These associations encourage the scientific pursuit of greater understanding of human behaviour and the provision of higher quality health care to the public.
